Welcome to another installment of the layouts that I created during Layout-a-day in May (LOAD514).  I have the fourth week's worth of layouts to share today.  My self-imposed rules for LOAD514 were to use my April Counterfeit Kit that I created, do at least one layout every day, no purchases at all that may come into contact with a scrapbook layout, and I created traditional or pocket pages depending on the prompt or photos from my childhood, my daughter's childhood, and my mother's childhood.  This week I went off prompt.  Completely.  I wanted to really focus in and finish all of my March pages for my album so that I would not be behind.  I definitely want to go back and work through the prompts, it just didn't work out for the final prompts of May for me.


LOAD 514 - Day 22 - March (17 - 23) Project Life Spread
This spread talks about how we've brought Atty's bouncer downstairs, which she loves.  And also how our Christmas tree is still up....in March.  Parent fail. lol  I used some of the BoBunny flowers that were in my kit to help break up some of the blue cardstock (which is one of the few things I have a ton of left in my kit).


Page two focuses on how she is getting really good at eating cherrios now (she was having some troubles before).  I love love love how the October Afternoon Daily Flash alphas looked for Cherrio eating machine.  LOVE how that turned out.  It make me want to buy a whole bunch of packs of those letter stickers.


LOAD 514 - Day 23 - March (17 - 23) Project Life Spread (page three)
This is the third page of the spread.  This time I played around more with the yellow cardstock that I had left in my kit.  This spread focuses on our family tradition of going to Pizza Ranch every Saturday for a family dinner.  This is important to us, because a) Atty can eat there, so we don't have to worry about bringing food or snacks since there is plenty that she can eat b) since Jamie and I work different shifts Saturdays is one of the few days that we get to be all together c) it's our special treat - we try not to spend money throughout the week.


This is page four from the week of March 17-28.  This is focused on Uncle Kevin coming over for lunch and visiting the baby.  I used some of the Simple Stories Homespun 6x6 page and some of my left over scraps.


LOAD 514 - Day 24 - Project Life Page March (24 - 28)
This week we had to take Atty to the Dr because she was throwing up, we made some banana bread for relay for life, and had a cool storm with some awesome clouds.  This is page one of the spread.  I used some white tags to help get my stories journaled for the 24th and the 26th.


LOAD 514 - Day 25 - Project Life  March (24 - 28)
This week Atty also played in clean laundry (one of her favorite things to do currently), watched some of her fav shows, and ate at Osaka for lunch one day.  I played with using up scraps of paper and little bits of embellishments from my April kit.

I started this spread earlier in the month with my celebration of Spring.  This is the other activities we did other than our visit to Wallace's.  We bought Atty a walker, shes standing and pulling herself up, and she had her first booboo ending up with a bruise. 


LOAD 514 - Day 27 - Mood Swings
Scrapbook layout about my daughter.  Really fun layout to put together tonight.  I used authentique phrase stickers for my journaling, which reads " You amaze me.  One day perfect innocence, the next we have our hands full.  Your voice can be delightful and you're silly, but when you are in a mood, you are LOUD and yell!  Today you are playing with Rattle Monkey - a mischievous face and midsnarl - but you are just full of giggles and smiles.  You are a diva, but we love our heaven sent girl!"  I had tons of fun with this layout.  I used all kinds of letter stickers and part of the simple stories homespun 6x6 pad.  Its quite a bit busy for me lately, but I really love how it turned out!


LOAD 514 - Day 28 - Learning to Stand Up Straight and Tall
Scrapbook layout about my daughter who is just starting to stand and pull herself up. Paper and vellum is Dear Lizzy.  Super simply layout but I love it.  I used a fun mix of alphas (I don't know what the black thickers are, but the green is Jillibean Gumbo Green and the white is October Afternoon Daily Flash).


LOAD 514 - Day 29 - Tax Day
Scrapbook layout about our experience doing our taxes with a young one (for the first time) and the four hour experience that it entailed.  One coffee was definitely not enough.  I had to feed her breakfast while waiting in line.  My husband got very angry when we got passed up, even though we were there before they opened.  Atty was really good for the first couple of hours but the last two were hard...  I used some of the speciality mulberry paper that I've had for years and years and years!


LOAD 514 - Day 30 - Hat Wearer
Scrapbook layout about my daughter who has never liked to wear hats, bonnets, or bows.  One day we went window shopping and she loved wearing all kinds of hats.. even nonhats.  I used a whole set of puffy flower stickers between these two layouts...lol  But I thought they looked so cute!  This is the left side of the spread


This is the right side of the spread.  In the photo on the left she is wearing a giant foam flower that has a hole in the middle.  Silly girl....  I used more of the Simple Stories Homespun 12 x 12 paper (this was my last full sheet of patterned paper in my kit!).


LOAD 514 - Day 31 - The Stack
The final #LOAD514  layout.  I have completed 54 layouts through my first LOAD experience.  Wooot!  Journaling reads, "LOAD 514 has been my 1st experience with the Layout a Day concept with Lain Ehmann.  And it has been an amazing time.  During the whole month of May, I created 54 layouts for my scrapbook albums and got down some fantastic stories and memories." 

This week I created another 13 layouts.  This brings my final total up to 41 layouts completed through LOAD.  The total in the above layout is adding in the layouts that I created for National Scrapbooking Day challenges across the scrapbooking world, which I did not include here.  Thanks for checking out the layouts that I completed for LOAD 514 - I hope you enjoyed them!  I really loved this challenge and can't wait for the next one!  If you missed any of the previous posts of my LOAD514 layouts check out week one, week two, and week three!

LOAD514 - Day 15 - 1st Beauty Lessons
Fashion victim - when I was three I decided to cut off my bangs.  Later I ended up with this lovely hairstyle when I asked my Grandma to cut my hair and it is now in the history books as the "Bowl Cut" according to my mother.  *I'm way too tired tonight to type the journaling but if you can't read it let me know and I will tomorrow :)


LOAD514 - Day 16 - Time Out
Journaling reads, "When I was naughty as a kid, the punishment was usually being grounded for a short time (anywhere from hours to weeks).  Grounding included any social activities that weren't school (even some church activities), videogames, and the phone."  This layout was made completely with scraps of patterned paper from my April Counterfeit Kit and then assembled onto a black piece of cardstock with a few embellishments.


LOAD514 - Day 17 - TV Time
I loved waking up early to watch my favs before school.  Some of my fav included Bobby's World, Power Rangers, Looney Toons, Tiny Toons, Xmen, HeMan & She-Ra, Doug, and Rugrats.


LOAD514- Day 18 - Lost My Tooth
When I was two & 1/2 or three (parents can't decide, but current photo evidence leads to three), I went to the park with my older brother.  While at the park instead of watching me, he was flirting with a girl and I decided to climb the rope ladder to get to the slide.  My foot got stuck and I fell, knocking out my front tooth!  On another note, I've almost killed my April Counterfeit kit through these LOAD challenges - woot!


LOAD514 - Day 19 - Reflections 2014
Just got my batch of photos from April so I used some more recent photos since I didn't have anything from these time periods mentioned in the journaling.  Journaling reads - "I wanted to be many things a child.  For the longest time I wanted to be a writer.  I also considered being a computer programmer in Highschool and writing computer games.  After sophomore year, when I started thinking about colleges I toyed with the idea of being a therapist, chiropractor, architect, and an anthropologist.  Finally, I decided to persue a degree in photography because I loved my yearbook class.  While in college, I fell in love with museums and wanted to use my photography skills to enhance the museum experience.  While I may not have the "career" that I thought I would, I am glad to call myself an artist.  I love creating - anything from crafts, scrapbook layouts, mixed media, and home décor.  I also am very lucky to be a momma - I never imaged how it would be when I was a child!"


LOAD514 - Day 20 - Baptism
This is pretty much the point that my in depth journaling ceased.  I do have most of it written down, but not on the layouts.  This one focuses on my Baptism (around age 12), which is different than what most people have I think.  I'm Pentacostal and this is how our Baptisms were done for many years, in the open air and the elements.  My journaling focuses a lot on how church played an important role in my life as a children.  I also have to create my letter B with a letter D and a number 8 - but I think it looks pretty good...


LOAD514 - Day 21 - March PL (days 10 - 16)
My PL spread for March 10-16.  I've got some ideas rolling around for the prompt, but just couldn't get to it with the daughter on this day.  So I needed something a bit less extensive.  Plus I don't want to fall further behind on my PL than I already am!


This is page two of my March PL spread for the 10th through the 16th.  Very Atty focused kinda week :)

LOAD - Day 8 - You make me happy
You make me happy when skies are grey.   Soundtrack of my life prompt.  Kind of took a cop-out, because I couldn't think of any songs for my childhood.  My mom couldn't think of any songs about her life that weren't negative (my opinion).  So I went with an oldie but a goodie for my daughter :)  This is one of my favorite pages I completed for LOAD. 


LOAD - Day 9 - Totem Opossum
This is my totem animal currently (until another makes itself known anyway).  We have been adopted by a opossum that has lost its tail at some point, so we call him Bob.  He tends to eat during the day instead of at night and can also be found in the raccoon traps almost every night.  Because of Bob, all opossums got a free pass from relocation in March.  This will be the journaling for the page, I just ran out of time and energy during LOAD.  Actually, speaking of Bob, we haven't seen him since March ended.  Hmm....



LOAD - Day 10 - Three Way Calling
I need to hunt down the photo that my best friends and I had taken together in jr high, so there is just a place holder right now.  But this layout is going to be all about the hours we spent as kids on the phone using three way calling so that we could all talk to each other.  Three way calling was when you call one person, put them on hold, and call the second person and put them on hold and it would merge the calls so you could talk to both people at once.  We would do it for HOURS and HOURS.  My friend Jamie had three-way calling too, so we could end up with 5 or 6 people on the line during some of our sessions.


LOAD - Day 11 - Puppy Love
This layout is about our three dogs that I had growing up.  I need to go through and do journaling on several layouts and this is one of them.  However the journaling will read: "1 - Trixie - she was our first dog and we got her when I was 5 years old.  She ended up going blind and so we got another puppy that I could play with in 1998.  While she was supposed to be a family dog, she ended up claiming my grandpa as her human. 2 - Pepper - my dog, at least he was until I went to college and he decided to reclaim my dad as his human.  He was awesome and even liked to play basketball with me!  3 - Snickers - Snickers we got in 2002 or there about when Trixie passed away.  He was one of the laziest cockerspaniels (they were all three cockers) all he wanted to do, even as puppy, was lie down and get cuddles and pets." 

There are several follow up stories I'd like to tell about each of these puppies.  Trixie loved to play with balloons (as seen in this photo) and we used to play dog hide and seek tag with her (you hid and she found you).  Pepper loved to chase cows and would spend hours doing it if they were too close to the fence for his liking.  He also loved cars and would ride out every week with my dad to take the garbage to the curb.  Snickers and I had a lovely experience when he was just a puppy in the middle of winter - I got us locked out of the house with me wearing just PJs and barefoot, with tons of snow on the ground!


LOAD - Day 12 - Passion for Cooking
This is my take on the prompt about seeds of the future.  These pictures are of me at age two.  As far back as I can remember I had a play kitchen and loved to cook ALL the TIME!  Well that passion carried over to growing up and helping with meals and finally my love of cooking today!  This is page one and has a coordinating pocket page with the rest of the pictures from this time.


This is page two and is a coordinating pocket page to the traditional layout.  I even spent most of Kindergarten playing with the toy kitchen (and being a toy kitchen bully not letting anyone else play with it or "clean up", because they did it wrong...or something like that).


LOAD - Day 13 - (The Best of) 7 months
This is my monthly highlight page I like to do for my daughter.  This photo is from March 2014 (I'm a couple months behind.. - and will be 5x7 for the final layout, but I gave away all of my 5x7 copies for Mothers Day). Journaling reads "Atty is growing up so fast.  At 7 months she is crawling super fast, trying to pull herself up and stand, eating stage two foods and anything she can get off our plates, eating Cherrios and puffs, teething so badly, had her 1st babysitting experience, and watching Bubble Guppies and Sesame Street."  This is another one of my favorites for the month!


LOAD - Day 14 - Sick Day
Sick Day - This scrapbook layout tells about how I would get sent home from school for running a "fever" in grade school.  Note to self - during LOAD do not try to use the sew-easy to create shapes and then hand stitch....it takes waaaayyyy tooo long lol!  I mean...I probably spent 2 or more 3 hours just stitching that circle, then gave up and said I'd finished the circle some other time!  Hence why you can see the little stitch marks (where I need to go back through and finished stitching).

This week I finished off with 8 more layouts, bringing my total up to 20!  Whew.  Come back tomorrow to check out my third week of LOAD layouts!  And if you missed it, check out my week one LOAD layouts.

I participated in Layout a Day (LOAD) in May.  The theme for LOAD 514 was Past Perfect, so I was able to complete layouts about my daughter, about my childhood, about my mother's childhood, and some current day layouts as well.  I used my April Counterfeit kit for most of the layouts (there were a few that required I dip into my stash for themed paper). I also did not allow myself to purchase anything scrapbooking related for the entire month.  It was awesome.  On May 31st, I had literally 3 inches of my tape adhesive left!  I think I used a total of  7 rolls over the course of the month in my tape runner.  I loved this challenge and am planning on participating in the next one as well!  I completed a total of 41 layouts for LOAD, I believe.  It was an amazing experience.  Some of the layouts are complex, some of them are simple.  As the month progressed it got harder for my to do layouts after work so they got a bit simpler.  When I had more time on the weekends, I tried to spend more time on the layouts.  But I love the mix of layouts I got!
