Layout a Day (LOAD1014) - Day Three
12:00 AM
Welcome back to day three of Layout a Day! This time around Layout a Day
(LOAD) is taking a school themed approach.
This semester we are working on "A Yearbook of Your Memories". Today we were inspired by the October Sketch for ScrapHappy. It included one vertical photograph and one horizontal photograph.
Once again, I turned to the batch of Easter photos I'm trying to work through. This time, I used photos of Atty with Grandpa. I also focused on using some of my Counterfeit Kit goodies to create this scrapbooking layout, although I did add in some sequins and My Mind's Eye chipboard elements as well.
The background paper is BoBunny Gabrielle Flight (part of their Back to Backs line) from 2011. I thought it worked really well with the outdoor photos. I fussy cut some Dear Lizzy flowers from one of my Michael's special buy $5 packs to use as the basis for my clusters. The brown scallop is a border sticker from Echo Park (one of the last border stickers on that sticker sheet - go me!). The alphas for this scrapbooking layout are by Nikki Sivils, and I also took the "waste" that was between the brown letters and added them to the clusters as little starbursts. The journaling reads, "You spent most of the afternoon on Grandpa's lap cuddling and showing him your toys."
I really love how easy this layout came together. That is one of the reasons I enjoy using sketches for inspiration. Another thing that I have noticed lately is that my clusters are really becoming easy for me to create, which is exciting for me because I love the look of clusters! One of my problems previously has been that I try to overdo and overload my clusters until they are...well super cluttered.
Come back tomorrow for my next LOAD layout, and for more inspiration you can check out what I have accomplished so far with LOAD this session.

Looks lovely Andrea. The babies flower headband matches the flowers on your layout.
